POLITICS: NUP ENDORSES FDC's ATTAN MOSES FOR SOROTI EAST MP VACANT POSITION

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has endorsed FDC's Moses Attan following a vacant position that fell vacant due to the court case in which the election was nullified with evidence of being marred by vote rigging. Attan Moses, who is believed to have won the seat welcomed NUP's decision not to fill a candidate and pledged to work together with NUP.

NUP's decision not to fill a candidate was supported by its President H.E Bobi Wine and seconded by several nup leaders and supporters. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu pledged full support for the FDC's flag bearer and promised to work together for the interest of the opposition.

" The National Unity Platform (NUP) has taken a decision not to field a candidate in the upcoming by-election for Soroti East Constituency in Soroti City. The Party will back the FDC candidate Hon. Attan Moses. Although we had very good potential candidates in Soroti, we are doing this in the broader interest of the unity of the Forces of Change. We believe that Hon. Attan legitimately won the previous election which was interrupted by a court decision. Therefore, we shall be supporting him, and rallying the people of Soroti to take him back to Parliament.

Moses Attan welcomed NUP's gesture and pledged to continue working together for the interest of the people of Teso and Uganda as a whole. "Team Attan Okia Moses would like to wholeheartedly welcome our brothers and Sisters from the National Unity Platform (NUP) who have endorsed our candidate to be confirmed as the Member of Parliament of Soroti City East by-election by the PEOPLE’S COURT. Like Winston S. Churchill said, “A kite flies against the wind, not with it.” A united opposition is the way to go if we are to overcome oppression, poor governance, corruption, injustice and greed!
