Mr Ogwang was reportedly shot dead by unknown assailants on Saturday morning. The incident according to reports happened in at around 1 am in Matugga in Wakiso district. At the time, the Ag. CAO was reportedly driving from Kireka, a Kampala suburb where he had booked a lodge to stay for the night. The Bokwo RDC Mr Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka confirmed the development when contacted by a local media. “I have just received confirmation from police that he was killed. They also sent me images from the scene showing how his car was shot at and then burnt.” said Mr. Hashaka. Mr Hashaka says the CAO was rushed to the Military Hospital in Bombo by rescuers, but it was too late. Asked whether he was aware of Mr Ogwang’s business that brought him to Kampala, Mr Hashaka said he hadn’t been briefed. “I wasn’t informed about that trip; I don’t know if it was official or private,” he said. “Even when the Local Government (Ministry) people called me I told them I wasn’t aware of the trip, yet as head of security in the district, I should have been informed of that kind of travel.” RDC Hashaka says he only learnt later that Ogwang left Bukwo and traveled to Kampala in the official district double cabin with his driver. “The driver has told us that when they got to Kampala, they got a lodge in Kireka, but in the middle of the night, Ogwang left and went driving himself, leaving the driver behind. The next thing the driver heard was that his boss was dead,” Hashaka narrated.
