Uganda: Bobi Wine Sends Message To Detained Besigye

NUP President, H.E Bobi Wine has this morning sent a message to his fellow opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye standing in solidarity with the detained former FDC leader who has been under house arrest for a week now.
Dr Kizza Besigye was arrested on Friday while he attempted to walk to work to protest the rising costs of fuel and other essential commodities in the country. The police were later quick to arrest him and bundled him into their police vehicle and took him to his home place in Kasangati where he is in house arrest till this moment.
NUP President, Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine acknowledged that as opposition, they hold Besigye in high esteem. In a Facebook post, Bobi Wine urged that the differences in their political approach might be different but they have not been blinded to the numerous struggles by Kizza Besigye.

"Standing in solidarity with you Dr. Kizza Besigye as you approach your 5th day under house arrest; a punishment you are being subjected to for daring to protest against the skyrocketing cost of living.

While our camps may have differences in how we approach the question of what strategies and methods we should use to dislodge the Museveni dictatorship, please know that we do hold you in very high esteem.

The differences in our respective political approaches have not blinded us to the honour, fortitude and commitment with which you have gone about resisting oppression. Pole sana" Posted by Bobi Wine on his Facebook page
