"Eat Cassava If Bread Is Expensive" Museveni tells Ugandans.

On the 1st of May 2022, while addressing legislators and other dignitaries at the celebration of the International Labour Day, President Museveni advised Ugandans to eat Cassava if bread is too expensive. He himself said he doesn't eat bread but eat mwogo (cassava).

This has quashed hopes of a section of Ugandans who expected the President to give them hope amidst high skyrocketing prices of essential commodities like soap, bread,sugar etc.

Cassava gives nutrients like carbohydrates which helps in growth and also energy.

According to retailers, it is reported that retailers registered low sales due to high prices of commodities.

Museveni also advised Ugandans to stop promoting languages that does not support foreign investments.
